Burn Before Reading review and release

Burn Before Reading release May 8th

                                   Author Sara Wolf

                                                      Review by Ashley Hunter Gill

A girl meets a wolf.
And a wolf meets his match.
Beatrix Cruz - Bee for short - has exactly one goal; kick her dad's severe depression in the ass. She's got a foolproof plan;
1. Get into the elite high school Lakecrest Preparatory on a scholarship
2. Study like crazy
3. Graduate into NYU and become a shrink
Nothing can stand in her way - not even Lakecrest's rich, hot, and notorious Blackthorn brothers. Not Fitz Blackthorn, with his flirting and his elite computer hacking, not Burn Blackthorn, with his intimidating height and emotionless face, and certainly not sinfully handsome Wolf Blackthorn, who hands out 'red cards' to students who displease him, and expels the ones who keep doing it.
But when Bee stands up for a student, she pisses off Wolf, and he's suddenly itching to pull her scholarship from underneath her. To keep it, Bee strikes a deal with the devil - father Blackthorn himself; spy on Mr. Blackthorn's sons, become friends with them, and learn their secrets in exchange for staying at Lakecrest.
Betraying the Blackthorn brothers' trust is supposed to be easy.
Becoming friends with the Blackthorn boys makes it hard.
And falling in love with Wolf makes it impossible.

Beatrix Cruz better known as Bee is the smart mouth, fast talking don't take crap from anyone scholarship student at Lakecrest Preparatory .  She is the one student who isn't afraid to stand up to the Blackthorn brothers . What makes them think they can run over Bee...........oh right their father has the ability to stop her scholarship. This scholarship means everything to Bee, she lives and breathes studying about mental health. Her father suffers from deep depression and Bee will do anything to help him, including studying her ass off to get into NYU and giving up her real dream of becoming a writer.

The powerful Blackthorn brothers have taken over the school, they're rich and powerful. They hand out red stop cards to whom they believe  to be harmful to the school.

Bernard Blackthorn aka Burn for short is the oldest, he's quiet and more often than not he's alone. He's known as the bear because of his size lucky for him, it intimidates  others and helped with his preference of not speaking.

Fitzwilliam Blackthorn aka Fitz for short is the most likeable of the brothers. He's usually the life of the party with his booze and drugs , he's also known for his hacking abilities  . He can get any info on any student at Lakecest Preparatory for any of the Blackthorn brothers needs.
Wolfgang Blackthorn aka Wolf for short is the most powerful Blackthorn brother of them all. He came up with the red card system to restore order back into the school. He doesn't like to be touched ... ever. Wolf has the ability to end your school career at Lakeland Preparatory and right now he wants to end Bee's... but what has Bee done?

Burn was the quiet one, Fitz was the flirty one, and Wolf was the nasty one. Everyone knew that.

Burn Before Reading is a story about enemies turned into lovers . I knew the moment I met Beatrix Cruz I would love her, Sara Wolf is known for writing strong female leads with witty dialogue . I enjoyed the growth of all the characters and how Bee's relationship with each individual brother tied together. The Blackthorn brothers endured  a lot of pain within their lives and all had their own coping mechanisms to handle the loss of their mother and their painful relationship with their father.
Burn Before Reading played like 90's teen movie in my head, the characters came together beautifully  and the dialogue was flawless. Sara Wolf  earned the title "Queen of YA" in my book.

About Sara Wolf
Sara Wolf is a twenty-something author who adores baking, screaming at her cats, and screaming at herself while she types hilarious things. When she was a kid, she was too busy eating dirt to write her first terrible book. Twenty years later, she picked up a keyboard and started mashing her fists on it and created the monster known as the Lovely Vicious series. She lives in San Diego with two cats, a crippling-yet-refreshing sense of self-doubt, and not enough fruit tarts ever.
