Review:
I was SOOOO excited when I heard the news that Webster and
Dukey were releasing another installment to the Dolls Series. I just was
scrolling my Facebook newsfeed and saw the cover reveal and practically
screamed with joy!
Obviously that means that I have read the first two, and
they were FANTASTIC! They were horrible, and gory, and creepy… everything you’d
be expecting from those two.
I received Pretty New Doll as an ARC and just finished it
today! It was all I thought about from the time I started it until the very
end, and I don’t think it’s going to leave
my mind any time soon.
When I first started the series, I didn’t view it the same
as I believe most people did. That Benny was so sexy and alluring. The phrase “He
could kidnap me any day” was thrown around in passing.
I thought of Benny as this horrible and deranged man.
Broken, but always knew (and got) what he wanted. And all he wanted was to add
to his Doll collection. The terrible things he did to people, the blood he
shed. Crazy! But, I loooooved it. I craved more. I couldn’t stop reading until
the very last word and then I felt a hole appear because, this taboo horror
story captured me into a world I didn’t think I’d be interested in.
I adored Benny for different reasons. Not because I thought
he was sexy but because I thought he was crazy!
Then I read Pretty New Doll… my opinion of Benny has now
changed. I was so happy that he found his Pretty New Doll. His Perfect New
Doll. A Doll that was 100% compatible with his needs and his personality. I
found myself swooning over this horrible and treacherous relationship that I
hope never happens in real life.
This devious duo can
not be contained.
Is she crazy to fall in love with someone like Benny? … Well
duh! You’d have to be. But, I found myself wanting their relationship to work!
I felt like he deserved it after all he’d been through.
I know that sounds crazy as well, but this book was strange.
It made me feel like all this taboo stuff that was happening was ok.
So now I find myself swooning over Benny like how every one
else has been for a while now. Talk about being late to the party.
Aside from all that. There’s more to this book than Benny
finding his Pretty New Doll. This goes waaaay deeper than that.
Benny… he just can’t handle himself. But he’s learning.
He’s got a new friend who’s teaching him new tricks. Better
ways to stalk, how to be patient, how to be more careful. He’s taking it slow
this time. Waiting a long time for things to die down while still keeping tabs
on his beloved Jade. After all, she’s his first love. His Dirty Little Doll.
The horrific events in this book were just that, horrific.
Benny is definitely back! And he’s back for revenge and love and he won’t stop
until he gets both.
Pretty New Doll was bloody, gory, terrible, sexy, steamy,
wrong, and just right. Although, it is definitely not for everyone.
WARNING: PND
contains a lot of triggers so it is not for the faint of heart.
**To FULLY understand the Dolls Series you need to read them from book one, Pretty Stolen Dolls.
Luckily they are currently on sale to celebrate the release of Pretty New Doll. But, that sale won't last forever, just like Benny's dolls, so get in on it now... if you dare.
